Author Bio
E.A. Williams attended the University of North Texas where she channeled her love of storytelling into film and play writing.
She was the only female writer selected for UNT’s 2014 playwriter’s showcase. While completing her film degree she also helped run a bi-monthly writer’s collective aimed at community engagement in the arts and stretched her creative limits by studying special effects makeup.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in film, she works as a makeup artist in both film and photography.
Born and raised in Houston, where she now lives with her dog, Williams is inspired by the diverse and challenging landscape of her home state.
“There is a point in the course of desire when all things are just sensation.”
The Line of Tepes
Influenced by the sweeping adventure and gothic romance of classics like Dracula to the fantastical chaos of books like John Dies at the End, Williams’ work is a union of tried-and-true storytelling and unapologetic modernity.
Along with the undeniable connection her work has to the western aesthetics of her hometown, Williams’ love of film and pop-culture infuse her characters with the exciting and familiar feeling of someone you could meet on the street or in the back-room poker game held bi-weekly by your local Bratva. Williams has said of her work that she wants everyone who reads it to feel as though saying the right thing to the wrong person could lead them right into her world of magic and monsters.
